Holy Family Monastery
Feast of St. Matthew

My goal is to found a monastery here in Ferndale, California, in the Diocese of Santa Rosa, with the permission granted by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Robert Vasa. I have been authorized to establish, in the little farmhouse that I am renting, a chapel called the Oratory of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in which the Most Holy Eucharist is reserved.

We strive, to the extent that our weak nature allows, to follow with burning and purified love the full demands of the Holy Rule of St. Benedict, using as paradigm the ancient Cistercian observance, the experience I had at Clear Creek Abbey in Oklahoma, and the Cistercian foundation of Christ in the Mountains that once existed in Caliente, Nevada. We offer the traditional Latin Liturgy. We seek clarity in charity within tight-knit monastic family, through classic liberal education, according to the teachings and method of St. Thomas Aquinas. Key in our monastic intellectual formation is classic liberal education, following within an integral monastic regime the educational method introduced by Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, CA.
